Autumn 2011, and Scotland’s Starter for Six startups programme kicks off with a new batch of creative industries looking to build their nascent ideas into sustainable, growing businesses. NoTosh was there to frame and challenge Scotland’s brightest business talent.
NoTosh hit the road and contributed to the 4Talent Inspiration Tour 2011, contributing to events in Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield, Liverpool, Bradford and York. We helped the young media students begin to understand the importance of a positive digital footprint.
NoTosh designed and delivered a truly global innovation competition and accelerator programme to develop from scratch 45 ideas from young innovators, digital talent and not-for-profits from five continents, and take them to their first investment in 21 days flat.
NoTosh has co-published a social media primer for leaders, policy-makers and teachers with the newly formed Pearson Centre for Policy and Learning and we are about to publish new research into how social media can be used to support teachers’ professional development.
It’s still not as easy as it should be for students, teachers and parents to contribute their own ideas about improving school, and even less easy for them to see if anyone listened and acted upon it. We’re changing that.
